INA: Did you ever have trouble with the authorities?
BOB: Well, I’ve gotten tear-gassed several times during antiwar protests, and arrested once for anti-segregation activity, but by and large I don’t think the ‘”authorities” consider me important. That’s okay; I don’t consider them important either. Science and art seem important to me; politics seems like a visit to the monkey house at the zoo. Except for the apes having some nasty new weapons, it makes a great comedy, especially for fans of the Three Stooges and Finnegans Wake.
